  • In 1992 a match played by 29 golfers on the Old Course at the Hong Kong Golf Club in Fanling, heralded the launch of the Hong Kong Football Club Golf Society. Since that day interest in golf amongst Members has risen dramatically and the Society has grown enormously in recent years, now boasting a membership of some 780 Society Members.

The Golf Society Committee has kept pace with this extraordinary growth and now runs a Society that is extremely active, with monthly medal competitions and matches against other golf societies not only in Hong Kong but across the region, as well as frequent overseas tours that have included popular trips to South Africa and Australia.

    The Courses

With the support of the Club's General Committee, the Golf Society has been able to offer its members the exceptional benefit of playing golf at two superb international standard courses in nearby Macau and Southern China, through the purchase of golfing debentures at the Macau Golf & Country Club and the Lotus Hill Golf Resort.

    The Member

In addition to the practice facilities at the Club, these debentures provide members with affordable golf on both weekdays and weekends and, through this, interest in the Society continues to grow. All members of the Society must obtain a Hong Kong Golf Association handicap and are expected to conduct themselves with appropriate golf etiquette at all times when on course.

    The Opportunity

As the composition of the Society changes as it grows, the Golf Society Committee will constantly look to ensure that the golf related assets of the Club reflect the new demands of the membership, giving members every opportunity to develop their game, whatever their level.
