HKFC Joins the Good Period Alliance: A Step Forward in Menstrual Equity

    23 Oct 2025

    Products Available in our Washrooms

We're proud to announce our newest partnership with LUÜNA, a purpose-driven social enterprise championing menstrual equity and sustainability across Asia. As part of the Good Period Alliance, Club has introduced LUÜNA’s sustainable menstrual products into our washrooms—marking a significant milestone in the Club’s commitment to inclusivity, wellbeing, and community care.

This initiative makes HKFC one of the first sports and social clubs in Hong Kong to provide free, high-quality menstrual products in its facilities. By doing so, the Club is taking a proactive step toward breaking taboos around menstruation and ensuring that all members—especially girls and women—feel supported and empowered in their daily lives.

    A Club for All

We've long been a place where people of all ages and backgrounds come together to play, train, and connect. The introduction of LUÜNA products into our washrooms reflects our belief that meaningful change often begins with small, thoughtful actions.

Faced with the realities and challenges many young women encounter around menstrual health, we recognised the importance of stepping up and taking action.

    - ~70% of adolescent girls skip sports during menstruation

    - Adolescent girls avoid sports during menstruation due to pain or societal shaming

Menstrual products are a basic necessity, and making them accessible in shared spaces is a simple yet powerful way to promote dignity, health, and equality.

“HKFC is more than just a sports club—it’s a community hub,” said General Manager, Matt Rawnsley. “We’re proud to be part of the Good Period Alliance and to support LUÜNA’s mission".

    Sustainable and Thoughtful

Founded by Olivia Cotes-James, LUÜNA’s products are not only effective and comfortable—they’re also sustainably made, with a focus on reducing environmental impact.

Olivia has been steadily growing the Good Period Alliance's network of organisations with a passionate community across Shanghai and Hong Kong. Through education, advocacy, and access, the Good Period Alliance is reshaping how menstrual health is understood and supported in workplaces, schools, and public spaces.
