About the Squash Section
Among its many successful sports sections, the Squash Section stands out as one of the most active and renowned in the world. With over 300 active members including current world ranked, full time tour professionals, the section offers a dynamic mix of competitive and social squash, along with a strong emphasis on youth development. With seven glass-backed courts, including three all-glass courts, the section boasts:
- 38 teams competing across 19 divisions in the Hong Kong Squash Leagues; including Ladies, Masters and Main League.
- A highly successful Junior Academy, which nurtures and inspires the next generation of players.
- Track record of hosting of international tournaments including PSA events, Junior Opens and, most recently the 2024 WSF World Teams Squash Championships.
- A rich history of collaboration with global squash organizations and clubs.

The Opportunity: Director of Squash
This is a rare and highly sought-after opportunity to lead one of the most active squash communities in the world, working closely with an engaged membership and a passionate committee.
The Director of Squash plays a pivotal role in shaping the future of squash at HKFC. Reporting to the Section Committee, the Director of Squash will develop and execute a holistic strategy ensuring continued growth, success and excellence of the section – both on and off the court.
Key pillars of the Director of Squash are to:
- Develop and oversee a robust coaching program, including the engagement of qualified coaches, servicing all section members from our Junior Squash Academy to our Master’s players at all skill levels.
- Represent the Club in its engagement with relevant sports associations and maintain strong relationships across the local and international squash community. This includes fostering collaborations with international clubs, organisations and teams to elevate the sections global presence.
- Host international tournaments at all levels, showcasing the HKFC and it’s squash facilities to the world.
- Promote a strong sense of community through engagement of all members. This could include social events, friendly competitions, Club Nights, education and development programs, fitness and health development.
- Lead the section’s efforts in local leagues emphasizing performance, teamwork, sportsmanship and mindset.
- In collaboration with the Section Committee, drive a commercial strategy for the section including a program of sponsorship and ensuring financial optimisation of section activity.

What We’re Looking For
The ideal candidate will bring:
- Experience in high performance squash environments as a player, coach, business management or sports administration.
- A proven track record in delivering growth and continuous improvement in line with strategic performance goals on and off the court.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with a passion for community building.
- Excellent interpersonal, analytical, evaluation and planning skills.
- Proven ability to engage people while managing budgets, sports facilities and long term strategy.
- Experience working with junior players, competitive leagues, and sports associations.
- A collaborative and forward-thinking mindset to grow the section’s success at all levels.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills (comfortable presenting internally and externally, for example to media).
- A commitment to excellence and a desire to contribute to the ongoing legacy of HKFC.
