    Spectacular Success at the Hong Kong Masters Open Squash 2024

    The Hong Kong Football Club (HKFC) Squash Section is delighted to report on the resounding success of the recently concluded Hong Kong Masters Open Squash 2024. The tournament, a World Squash Federation (WSF) Masters Tour event, was sanctioned by the WSF and acknowledged by the Squash Association of Hong Kong China.

    The event saw participation from nearly 100 players from diverse regions including Hong Kong, China, China, Macau, China, Malaysia, Australia, Singapore, India, Japan, Chinese Taipei, Tanzania, Philippines, and Thailand. Over the course of the tournament, spectators were treated to 176 thrilling matches across 10 categories.

    We are particularly proud to announce that 13 members from our Squash Section clinched top three positions in various age groups. Their achievements are a testament to their hard work, dedication, and the high level of training provided at the HKFC.

    In the Women’s 35+ category, Karen Lau from HKFC emerged as the champion, followed by Leanne Li and Vanessa Leung. The Women’s 45+ category saw Hong Shen clinch the top spot, with Rieko Oshima and our very own Javy Wong securing second and third places respectively.

    The Men's categories were equally competitive. In the Men’s 35+ category, Eric Ho, Ho Fai Chiu, and Ho Ming Chiu, all from HKFC, swept the podium. Andrew Ward from HKFC won the Men’s 40+ category, with Shahroze Khan and Simon Disler finishing second and third. The Men’s 45+ category was won by Joe Wong, with Lincoln Chan from HKFC and Kenny Foo securing the second and third positions.

    In the Men’s 50+ category, Gillem Tulloch and Phil Head, both from HKFC, clinched the top two spots, followed by Jason Ong. The Men’s 55+ category was won by Richard Johns, with Stuart Gates from HKFC and Jay Bidal finishing in second and third places respectively.

    The Men’s 60+ category saw Peter Hill from HKFC emerge as the champion, followed by Victor Koh and Simon Ho from HKFC. The Men’s 65+ category was won by Zainal Abidin, with Colin Robertson and Francis Wong securing the remaining podium spots. The Men’s 70+ category was won by Chan Kai Ki, with Albert Chua and Simon Ng from HKFC finishing second and third.

    We extend our heartiest congratulations to all the winners and participants. The success of the Hong Kong Masters Open Squash 2024 is a testament to the growing popularity and competitive nature of squash in Hong Kong and beyond.
