Tomato Shines in 2023: Elites Player Off to a Strong Start with Impressive Results

    04 Feb 2023

Tomato, the world No.38 squash player, has had an impressive start to 2023. After performing tremendously in the PSA Platinum Tournament of Champions and PSA Silver Cleveland Classic events, she pushed herself closer to the top 30 rankings.

It's been an impressive start to the year for Tomato, our elite squash player. After performing tremendously to kick off 2023, Tomato has made an impressive run in the PSA Platinum and Silver events.

In the PSA Platinum Tournament of Champions, the World no.36 Tomato broke into the round of 16 for the first time since 2016, only to be stopped by the world's No.3, Hania El Hammamy. Not long after this, Tomato put on a stunning display in the Cleveland Classic - PSA Silver event, knocking out the world No.30 Hana Ramadan, the world No.8 Sarah Jane Perry and the world No.14 Tesni Evans. Despite her run being stopped by Georgina Kennedy in the semi-finals, Tomato's first semi-final appearance in the PSA Silver event has pushed her closer to the top 30 rankings.

With Asian Games taking place this year, it's exciting to think about what else she has in store. Everyone at Squash Section wishes her the best of luck in the year ahead as she continues her amazing run with her year.
