Ten Pin Bowling
Launched in 2008, the Bowling Interest Group boasts 20 members and counting. Although the interest group is still in its developmental stages, we hope to raise awareness of the sport within the Club and to increase members.
The main objective of the Bowling Interest Group is to promote ten-pin bowling within the Club both socially and competitively. For those who wish to bowl amongst friends or simply just to improve their game, weekly practice sessions are held on Thursday evenings with our resident coach Catherine Che (Asian Games gold medal winner).
The Bowling Interest Group (BIG) is a member of the Hong Kong Inter Club Ten-pin Bowling Association (HKICTB). For those with a more competitive side, HKICTB matches are held once a fortnight, against other clubs across Hong Kong. Occasional, competitions are also held during the year within the interest group. Any BIG member has the opportunity to represent the Club in bowling competitions (HK Open, BOC Sports Festival, etc.).
Bowlers of all levels are welcome to join the Bowling Interest Group and to participate in practice sessions. Bringing along an open mind for learning and to follow the basic etiquettes of bowling is the basic fundamentals. Top scoring members of the Bowling Interest Group have an opportunity to earn a prestigious place on the Score Board in the bowling alley.
Our goal as a Bowling Interest Group is to make the bowling more enjoyable, fun and sociable for all members, so come and join the Bowling Interest Group and see what the fun is all about.
